MANHATTAN—Seeking to capitalize on its more recently popular procedural, lawyering franchise, which gained a resurgence in the streaming era, as well as to seize on recent buzz surrounding its LA-spinoff, USA Network announced Friday that it would launch a new procedural workplace comedy-drama series following a group of flatulent lawyers. The series, we’re told, will be titled Toots, which pays homage to its original predecessor “Suits” by rhyming with the original series title while giving new meaning to its premise, as a “toot is another word for fart,” series creator Dan Harmon tells us. Harmon, who is known for his comedies Rick and Morty and Community, was viewed by some fans of Suits as an odd choice to direct the series. However, Harmon tells fans he’s a “huge Suits fan.”
“I loved Suits,” Harmon revealed. “But my only complaint: not enough toots going on there. Especially from Louis — that guy looks like he could cut the cheese like the best of them, Donna, too, but hers probably wouldn’t even smell!”
Harmon noted that Louis Litt’s popular catchphrase, “You just got Litt up!”, would be repurposed in the new series. However, Louis, Harmon tells TTT, will not be making an appearance as actor Rick Hoffman responded to the project by saying, “Absolutely not. That’s disgusting.”
Litt’s storyline will nevertheless intersect with the newer series in that a new character, Louis’s cousin, “Lois Titt” (portrayed by Kat Dennings), will serve as a romantic interest to lead prosecutor, Hardy Sphincter, the latter who will be portrayed by Tom Hardy. Lois Titt, we’re told, will occasionally borrow her cousin’s line in a repurposed exclamation, “You’re about to get Litt up!”, which we’re told will precede flatulence being forcefully projected near an open Zippo lighter flame.
Preceding the series title card, a message, “In loving memory of Duck Egleton,” will play.
A Jackass-style WARNING message will also precede the opening credits.

The same in memoriam tribute to Egleton will appear at the end of each episode over a photo of the man, supposedly the inspiration for Toots when Dan Harmon heard about Egleton’s recent tragic passing in a freak saganaki accident involving an open flame and a strained emission of flatulence. “We all can learn from Duck,” Harmon posited. “Saganaki and fart safely, ideally after the flames have died down.”

The series is expected to debut after SNL in the 1:00AM slot in an apparent network partnership with NBC Universal and USA Network.
